PS-255 ~Mist spray system~
Description
PS255 is the mist spray system for metal stamping having electromagnetic pumps and spray nozzles.
The electromagnetic pump mounted on each spray nozzle is possible to regulate the volume of oil spreading of each nozzle finely because of digital control.
The nozzle sprays metalworking oil into workpiece materials uniformly by atomizing the oil at low pressure with compressed air.
PS255 series that combines the controller, tanks, nozzles and others is for low kinetic viscosity oil (less than 10㎟/s) and suitable for wide range of requirements.
Features
Prepare for the number of the nozzle up to twelve
- Available for spraying with 12 nozzles maximum. (6 nozzles for upside of material and the other six for downside of material)

Large volumetric and multi-tank
- There are one-tank model (one 20L tank), two-tank model (two 20L tanks), and three-tank model (three 10L tanks). Lower limit float switch is on both 10L and 20L tanks. Multi-tank is versatile to use different oil by switching tank.

Plural register of spray setting.
- Available for register up to a hundred of spray setting to memory bank and specify up to sixty-four of spray setting from an external input.

Connect to a monitoring sensor
- Connectable flow monitor (FD-SS02A) made by Keyence is up to three units.

Multi-tank
A, B and C are used in combination for selecting the kind of oil and the
number of tank for the order code of PS255.
A-spec is one 20L tank for only one kind of oil (A). AA-spec is two 20L
tanks for only one kind of oil (A). AB-spec is two 20L tanks for two kind
of oil (A and B). ABC-spec is three 10L tanks for three kind of oil (A,
B and C). PS255 outputs stop signal when the lower limit floating switch
inside the tank becomes in the off position which is error. Other things,
there are monitor mode and alternately switching mode. The former is monitoring
the float switch of the tank you just selected in multi-tank.
The latter is possible to make you awake to feed oil by outputting alarm
when either 20L tank out of those two becomes empty.
If you don’t feed oil, alarm output is not cancelled. But you can also
continue to spraying with other 20L tank. If both 20L tanks become empty,
it will output stop signal.
(Notice) In AA-spec, the oil tube line of two tanks will get together after
electromagnetic valve. If use two kinds of oil, they will be mixed in the
oil tube line. If slug or others are generated by mixing two kinds of oil,
it might be broken or its lifetime becomes short because the structure
of electromagnetic pump is very fine.
Adjusting oil quantity of spraying
Electromagnetic pump of PS255 is powered by voltage pulse of DC 24V.
Quantity of oil transfer is controlled by both pulse width of voltage pulse (ON time of pulse (ms)) and pulse frequency (Hz).
Pulse width is related with the stroke of plunger inside electromagnetic pump.
Longer pulse width bigger stroke.
Pulse frequency is the frequency of the stroke of the plunger per one second.
Higher pulse frequency higher frequency of the stroke.
Quantity of oil transfer is large when pulse width is long and pulse frequency is high.
But its tendency will be changed by kinetic viscosity of oil or condition of piping.
If you set wrong pulse width or pulse frequency like the plunger doesn’t reciprocate normally, quantity of oil transfer becomes unstable.
Pulse width is set for each pump. Pulse frequency is set for UPPER (CH1,
3, 5, 7, 9, 11) and LOWER (CH2, 4, 6, 8,10, 12).
Comparative table for PS255 and PS254
PS 255 was created newly by developing and improving PS 254.
Adjusting each pump drive time with flow measurement and producing proper balance. Adjust all CH simultaneously by spray frequency adjustment.

*1 Kinematic viscosity of oil should be less than 10㎟/s(cSt) at 40℃. When
decrease in temperature, kinematic viscosity of oil increase and then it
brings about the possibility of decreasing quantity of oil transfer significantly
due to the influence of piping resistance. Please inform us about both
the kinematic viscosity of the oil to be used and how much oil amount of
spray you consider when introducing our mist spray system.
